Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuhu.
I hope you and your family are well sheikh.
Alhamdullilah!
Living in the west you need to constantly remind yourself of the hereafter. because our ultimate end is with allah and our actions during this life and the mercy of allah will determine were we will end up, May allah bless us with the victory, and make us people of Jannah.
Has this book been translated to english.
Also a good talk on the hereafter is A party in Paradise and a party in Hellfire by Sheikh Abu Ali Nabil al Awadhi

Jazakumallahu Khayran ya sheikh for the post may Allah bless you.
I have a question if you can please reply to this , is copyright allowed on Islamic lectures and any thing with islamic information like Al Basheer publication does, it makes it difficult to spread your series of lectures among the muslim masses.

Assalamualaikum wr. wb.
Jazakallahu khairan for all your efforts especially this book reviews are really terrific especially for myself who have never been exposed to any of the Islamic books except for the real famous ones. I’m really glad that Allah swt has allowed this blessing for us.
Alhamdulillah. Another quote from your review, which is really deep and captivating is “Looking through the lens of the Hereafter puts everything in this world in the right perspective”. Really great!

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah. Jazakum Allahu khairan for yet another post. Before I was even able to read the entire post, I had to stop and say that I must agree about the “romantic” feel of al Andalus. I think I have read every book I was able to get my hands on in English on Muslim Spain and I cannot begin to tell you how long I can sit and daydream about being in Andalus at the height of its glory and splendor. Unfortunately I am awaken from the dream to the reality that it is no longer with us. May Allah restore glory to this ummah.

Asalam Aleikhum dear respected brother Anwar and all the Muslims.
May Allah reward you for all your efforts.
This is one of favourite topic. I would like post my comments what I experienced when I stated listening to your lectures esp this one related to Al Akhera.
I only received the set of Al Akhera lectures in 2006,I was given as a gift by a brother when I was about to start a journey, driving, alone in the car from East to South Africa (more than 4000kms).
My journey was suppose to take 3days but I delayed by driving slowly so I could spend more time in the car listening to all the CD’s after I discovered there were great benefit and learn what were never thought from our childhood about Al Akhera.
What amazed me, I never felt tired during the journey and sometimes I had enough energy to drive throughout the night where the roads were very quiet, dark along the African jungle to ofshore of Indian Ocean.
So all along beside breaking for prayers, refreshment and top up the gas - the rest of the time I was listening to Al Akhera CD’s.
Alhamdulilah, when I reached my destination, I was looking at life in total different perpective.
I found the best recipe of Islam, the importance of elm (Al Qurán),the importance of being a follower of Muhammad SAW, importance of following his ways. I discovered how to value this world and everything in it and many more…
I considered my journey was a blessed one.Alhamdulilah. This is how I came to know about Brother Anwar. I recommend to anyone to buy this lecture of Al Akhera.
May Allah accept our duah.
Assalamu alaikum beloved Shaykh,
“We forget that everything is a blessing, even darkness.”
How very true! SubhanAllah! Even the very air we breathe is a blessing from Allah, but Man is forever ungrateful.

Assalam-mualykum, i listened to your Al Akhera cds while travelling to work daily, I used to hate the traffic but these cds allowed me to reflect on my lifestyle while listening, it is truely inspirational. i now enjoy travelling even being stuck in traffic as long as i have one of your cds. It is a way of constantly increasing my Islamic knowledge. May Allah Ta ala reward you for all the good you are spreading.

al-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah
masha’Allah i have been reading your blog with much interest, especially since you started the book reviews. they are excellent, and you have selected - so far - some of the most reknowned classical books. looking forward to your review of Sharh Sahih Muslim by Imam al-Nawawi (rahimahullah). did you also manage to read [selections] Fath al-Bari by ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) at all?
i would like to ask a question. in the review of al-Tadhkirah, you stated:
“The book is excellent except for the inclusion of many weak hadith”
i just wanted clarification of this. from my [limited] studies, a weak hadith is not fabricated, and most weak ahadith are weak because their isnad, not the actual statement or meaning derived from it. while the ulama agree that legal rulings cannot be derived (matters of halal and haram specifically) from weak ahadith, they can be used for “fada’il al-amal”. i accept that not all ulama concur with this, but some of the biggest usuliyyin and hadith scholars did take this opinion. furthermore, often there are several weak ahadith which provide the same meaning which stregthens the overall hadith.
is it a major problem that the book contains weak ahadith, and if you believe so - can you explain why? [is it because on the scale of weak, they are very weak?]
barakallahu fikum
anwar on July 11th, 2008 at 12:04 pm #
al Razi,
I concur with what you say about the weak hadiths and the answer to your question is that the book should still be read and recommended even though it does contain weak hadiths. However it should be read with the awareness that not every hadith in it is strong

Sheikh Anwar, can you please let me know about using week hadith for the benefits of doing good deeds or ibadah. I also want to know about jamaat-A dawwah or (tablighi jamaat), when i first accepted Islam I went with this group and learned many good things in Islam. However the more I learned about Sunnah, and the teaching of Islaam, I shyed away and I began to hear that this jamaa was doing bidaah. So I became afraid and stopped going with them. Please Sheikh if you can let me know what you know about jammatul Dawwah, and there teachings and there way. Also about the book they are using (fazaill e amaal), what about the hadith and teachings in this book? I want to know what to say to the brothers and if they are doing mistake then help inshallah correct them in a good way. And if they are doing good then I want to support them inshallah. Jazaak Allah Khair.Salaamu alikum

ya shaik i wal listening to your series on abu bakr r.a. and when you talked about his first speech as the khalifa it was so inspiring to hear those words.
But when you talkes about the leaders and stuff. In the west there is a lot of fitna about learders should you obey them etc.could you do a talk about that whats the stance of the sunnah , sharia about that .May Allah bless you in dunia and Akhira. And make you of the first.

Brother Anwar JazakumAllah khairan for relating your experience to us, I can remember hearing one of your lectures about the hereafter and the inevitable outcome which is Jannat. I listened to you for the very first time on CII in South Africa when you were doing this talk! Your insightful talk was very inspirational and your motivation and urge to study Islam is both stimulating and motivating.
It gives me great pleasure that people today still have the zeal to sit down (in prison as well :)) and study the Hadith and contemplate on what has been written by years of collective scripture and documents.

I am very pleased to say that Allah swt has guided me to a shop which had this book in english! i bought it yesterday and hope to read it inshaAllah,
however, about the weak ahaadiith, i have noticed the ahaadiith are just mentioned as part of the writing, and the narrators are not always mentioned, and which book of hadiith it is recorded in. is there any way of knowing which of the ahaadiith are the weak ones without having knowledge of the ahaadiith?
Jazakallah Khayra, keep us in your dreams

My father bought the book at-tathkirah and it is thick but small in size. It is in arabic and it was hard for me to understand some words because I am stilling learning arabic nahwi. May Allah protect all the true scholars in our time and accept their dua because they have more ikhlas than all of us here.
